GB’s was founded in November 2003 but was actually in the making for the previous 12 years. Originally it was a way to spend quality time with my 12-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son. They had a week off for the Thanksgiving holidays and we would spend a day going through cookbooks and writing down all the different cookies we would like to make. Then we would spend hours trimming the list to about 30 different recipes. We would start baking Thanksgiving week and continue in the evenings and weekends until Christmas. Then we would give the cookies to family members on Christmas.

We have continued this tradition even though my two older children are grown and have left the nest. My youngest daughter is now 10 years old and is helping to carry on the family tradition. We decided to see if any one else was interested in our home baked goods and were overwhelmed with the response the past December.
It is a joy not only because I get to spend quality time with my daughter but also because of the many compliments from the people who have received a gift basket from GB’s Best. It’s such a wonderful feeling when someone tells you how much they enjoyed something you made with your own hands.
This is a family owned and operated establishment. It is with the combined effort of the entire family that has made us the success we are.
I would personally like to thank my husband, Gerry Funk, my children, Trish and Rick Vinyard, Brandt Hart, and Brittney Funk, my mother and father, Nancy and Frank Salemi, my sister, Tammy Boone, my niece, Chelsea, and my godchild, Chevis. I would also like to thank all my good friends that gave me the support I needed to keep on baking and all their efforts to help make our dream a reality.
